The Department of Public Works is responsible for the maintenance of streets, sidewalks, municipal buildings, public grounds, and essential infrastructure systems. We work diligently to ensure safe roadways, effective stormwater management, timely snow and ice removal, and the upkeep of City-owned properties and equipment. Through careful planning, preventative maintenance, and responsible resource management, the Department strives to protect public investment while maintaining high standards of service, safety, and accountability. The department works diligently to preserve the city’s parks, green spaces, roadways, and public infrastructure while enhancing the overall appearance and functionality of the community. Through proactive maintenance, seasonal operations, and responsive service, the department supports neighborhood pride, public safety, and quality of life. From park improvements and recreational areas to street maintenance and snow removal, the Parks & Streets Department plays a vital role in sustaining the daily operations and long-term development of River Rouge.
