The City of River Rouge Building Department is responsible for the enforcement of building codes and zoning ordinances in accordance with the Michigan Building Code.
The department maintains records concerning the construction, alteration, and demolition of buildings and structures throughout the City.
Our goal is to efficiently serve the community by providing a user-friendly permit and inspection process.
For the convenience of residents, contractors, and business owners, forms and informational documents are available through this website.

In Person
Payments may be made at the City Treasurer’s Office, located on the 1st floor of City Hall.
Drop Box
Payments by check or money order may be placed in the secure drop box located at the front entrance of City Hall. Please place payments in a sealed envelope.
Online Payments
Residents may pay their bills online. Please see the link below to create an account and make payments.
Phone Payments
Payments may also be made by phone at 1-866-589-1043.

Important:
After making a payment, you must send your receipt to the Building Department at
building@cityofriverrouge.org
so your payment can be applied to your account.
