Commissioner
Greetings, River Rouge Residents!
I am a lifelong resident of the city I love, River Rouge! I raised my family here with my loving wife, Sandy. My wife, myself, and our three sons all graduated from River Rouge High School. I have been employed with the River Rouge School District as Facilities Director for 42 years.
In the past, I had the honor of serving as your Commissioner from 2003 to 2018. I am honored to once again serve the residents of River Rouge as an appointed Commissioner following the unfortunate passing of former Mayor and Commissioner Daniel Cooney. I am proud of my record and look forward to continuing to serve our community.
As we move into another season in our community, I want to thank each of you for your continued involvement, support, and commitment to making River Rouge a great place to live, work, and raise a family. Our city continues to benefit from the dedication of our residents, local businesses, volunteers, and public employees who work hard every day to keep our neighborhoods safe, welcoming, and vibrant.
I will continue to focus on responsibly stewarding taxpayer resources, maintaining essential services, and planning for the future. I will always ensure that the voices of our residents are heard in the decision-making process. I encourage everyone to stay engaged by attending public meetings, following community updates, and sharing your ideas and concerns. Together, we can continue to build a strong community and address the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
In closing, I encourage everyone to attend the many events taking place throughout our city. Please keep a copy of the City of River Rouge Community Newsletter for information about upcoming events, and be sure to visit the City of River Rouge website and official Facebook page for the latest news and announcements.
Thank you for the trust you place in your local government. It is an honor and a privilege to serve as your Commissioner.
Sincerely,
Mark J. Pruneau
Commissioner, City of River Rouge
